Resting Dog in Kathmandu

Golden hour light spills across a busy metalworking workshop in Kathmandu, illuminating a craftsman’s hands as he polishes a brass vessel. On the cluttered workbench, a worn brown dog rests its chin on a stack of ceramic tiles, seemingly indifferent to the rhythmic scraping of a burnisher nearby. Several tea kettles hang from rusted tool hooks in the background, their surfaces catching the warm, low-angle sun. A colored glass bottle and a simple coaster sit precariously near a pile of mosaic tile fragments, adding small pops of saturated blue and red against the dusty earth tones.
