Sunlight floods the narrow alleyway of Seoul’s Bukchon Hanok Village, illuminating a traditional wooden workbench set up on the stone path. An elderly craftsman sits on a low folding chair, his hands steady as he shapes a piece of dark hardwood with a claw hammer, the surface already scarred with knife marks from decades of repair work. Beside him, a small toolbox rests open, revealing scattered tools, while a mechanical pencil lies abandoned near a stack of finished wooden frames. The bright late morning light casts sharp shadows across the intricate joinery, highlighting the contrast between the worn wood and the gleaming metal tools.
