Cool north window light falls across the concrete floor of a chilled distribution bay in Durban, highlighting the stainless steel frame of a reefer trailer check station. Thick black probe cables dangle from overhead fixtures, resting beside a stack of white seal forms clipped to a metal rail. A pair of thick insulated gloves hangs from a hook against the gray wall, their rubbery surface catching the bright daylight. Faint tire tracks mark the ground along the bay door. Late morning shadows stretch across the equipment, showing the precise arrangement of the cooling unit connection points and the orderly placement of safety gear. A small puddle of condensation collects at the base of the trailer door.
