Red Geraniums in Halifax
by Andre Phelps
A cluster of vibrant red geraniums rests on a weathered wooden railing, their broad green leaves catching the last light of a Halifax summer evening. The flowers are planted in simple terracotta pots that show signs of wear from years of coastal exposure and salt air. Behind the blooms, a textured white stucco wall provides a neutral backdrop that contrasts with the rich organic colors of the plants. Small water droplets rest on the lower petals, reflecting the soft, fading daylight in tiny bright spots.
