Low-hanging gray clouds press against the skyline as the first light of a rainy season morning falls through. On a wet Bhubaneswar sidewalk, a projector beam cuts across a wall of student lookbooks. The water-slicked pavement reflects the cool white glow, turning the concrete gray and glossy. Textured pages of the books display colorful garment sketches and fabric swatches, their edges catching the sidelight that skims the damp air. The symmetrical arrangement of the display creates a stark, orderly contrast to the chaotic rain droplets falling around the perimeter. A faint shadow of a tree branch stretches across the lower corner of the projected image, marking the boundary between the outdoor street and the indoor presentation.
