Rain blurs the glass of a Perth cafe window as dusk settles over the Swan River, casting a cool grey light on the wet pavement outside. Inside, the focus rests on a cluttered service counter where a ceramic tile backsplash reflects the warm glow of pendant lamps. A barista’s hand reaches for a stack of paper cups near a row of metal canisters, their surfaces slick with condensation. Outside, a pedestrian in a yellow raincoat walks past, their figure distorted by the rain-streaked glass. The mundane rhythm of a city settling into evening, with the contrast between the dry, organized interior and the chaotic, wet world beyond the pane.
