Quebec City Blue Jays

A pair of blue jays perches on the rusted iron railing of a balcony in Quebec City, their bright blue wings contrasting sharply with the gray, overcast sky. The birds face each other, appearing to squabble over a small piece of discarded bread crust that rests on the weathered metal slats. Below them, the steep, tiled roofs of Old Quebec cascade down the hillside, blurred slightly by the midday haze and distance. One bird tilts its head, revealing the intricate black markings around its eyes and the white patch on its cheek.
