Pressed Orchid on Terraced Garden Near Zagreb

Reflected light shimmers across a glass-covered herbarium sheet holding a dried orchid specimen. The plant rests flat against aged paper, its delicate petals preserved in shades of pale violet and soft cream. A handwritten label in neat script identifies the species, attached with thin tape. Behind the glass, terraced garden plots slope downward toward water, their green rows blurred by wind whipping through the foliage. Midsummer heat ripples the air, distorting the distant trees and garden beds. The glass surface catches bright highlights, creating sharp contrasts with the muted tones of the dried flower. A small droplet of condensation rests on the corner of the glass, blurring the edge of the label.
