Beside him, a stack of white plastic crates holds yesterday’s catch, their surfaces slick with brine and sea spray. A faded red sun hat rests on a cooler, its brim curled from years of salt exposure, while a chipped enamel mug sits nearby, steam rising faintly into the gray morning light.
