Pale cream stucco of the Art Deco hotel facade shows deep cracks and crumbling corners against the predawn darkness. Faint ground glow illuminates the lower wall, revealing rough textures where paint has peeled away. Dramatic, heavy clouds loom overhead, their dark shapes against the few bright stars piercing the sky. Shallow depth of field blurs the distant street into soft gray tones while keeping the building's geometric cornices sharp. Cool season air is suggested by the crisp, unmoving shadows and the stark contrast between the warm, weathered stone and the cold, dark sky. One fractured decorative molding hangs precariously near the corner.
