Potted Lemongrass in Beijing

A small potted lemongrass plant sits on a narrow, wet concrete ledge of a residential balcony in Beijing during light rain at dusk. The green stalks are dark and glossy from the drizzle, against the muted grey of the surrounding city lights reflecting in the puddles. A translucent plastic window curtain hangs slightly askew behind the pot, its surface beaded with moisture that blurs the view of the interior room. Raindrops slide steadily down the curved plastic, distorting the warm, yellow glow spilling out from the apartment behind it.
