Thick mist hangs low over a tidal inlet in Lapland, softening the edges of an endless summer twilight. A polar bear moves across a crust of hard snow, its massive white form blending with the pale ground. Behind the animal, a line of deep paw prints marks its path through the frozen surface. The water beside the shore reflects a cool, gray-blue light that illuminates the bear's fur from the side. The foreground blurs into a wash of white and gray, while the bear remains sharp against the hazy background. Each step disturbs the crust, revealing the darker snow beneath the track. The animal pauses, head low, ears forward, focused on the water's edge.
