A dimly lit Berlin U-Bahn platform corner glows under the sickly yellow of a flickering sodium vapor lamp, casting long, distorted shadows against the tiled wall. In the foreground, a discarded plastic bag rests on the grimy concrete ledge, its translucent surface catching the ambient neon bleed from a nearby advertising panel. One, crushed beer can sits beside a crumpled receipt, while a stray pigeon pecks at a piece of stale bread near the track edge, its feathers ruffled by the draft of an approaching train.
