A Peruvian Inca Orchid stands centered in a small yard, its wrinkled, hairless skin catching the cold silver light of early dawn. The dog's muzzle is broad and slightly upturned, framed by large, upright ears that sweep back against the thick mist. Clipped grass blades lie damp and flat in the foreground, leading the eye to the animal's textured coat which shows distinct patterns of pink and grey pigment. The lighting is soft and diffuse, casting gentle shadows that accentuate the deep folds around the neck and shoulders. Behind the subject, a low concrete wall separates the yard from the quiet street of La Victoria. The dog's dark eyes hold a steady, weathered gaze as the morning air seems to settle around its slender frame. One blade of grass rests against the dog's front paw.
