Soft gray light falls through heavy overcast skies, filling a vaulted atrium in Ogbomosho with a quiet, diffused glow. A wooden oud rests against plush cushions stacked in a corner, its dark grain catching the subtle moisture in the air. Rain-slicked stone floors reflect the muted sky, while mist rests on the vaulted arches overhead. The rainy season has turned the open courtyard visible beyond the pillars into a wash of green and gray. Leading lines of the stone pillars guide the view toward the instrument, where a small splash of color on a cushion adds a playful touch to the damp, still morning. The curve of the oud's neck meets the rough texture of the stone wall beside it.
