Heavy overcast skies outside cast a diffuse, gray light into the vast interior of a restored train terminal in Chittagong. An oud leans against a stack of patterned cushions resting on the worn stone floor. Strands of string lights hang from the vaulted ceiling, draping across the high space and emitting a warm, uneven glow that reflects off the instrument's polished wood grain. The frayed edges of the textiles contrast with the smooth curves of the dark wood. Deep shadows pool in the corners of the empty hall, blending with the cool season stillness. A faint reflection of the overhead lights shimmers on the curved body of the instrument near the bottom edge.
