Frost crystals coat the rough fabric of a work shirt and the glass of a rain-streaked window beside a Stamford harbor wall. An orchard picker stands centered, their gaze steady and direct. Deep shadows swallow the left side of their face while a sharp rim of evening light traces the curve of their shoulder and the edge of their cap. Dark ink stains the cuffs of their sleeves, resting against the pale frost on the windowpane. The visible frost on the subject's collar and the wet, gray stone of the harbor wall confirm the dry, freezing conditions. One droplet of rain hangs precariously on the window frame, refracting the dim light.
