Under the flat glare of noon, the Swan River waterfront promenade in Perth reflects the harsh white sky. A white fishing boat cuts through the water, leaving a wake behind it as it navigates the channel. On the paved walkway, a vendor’s cart displays a tray of fresh fruit tarts with custard, their glossy surfaces catching the direct sunlight. Pedestrians in summer attire stroll past, some glancing at the dessert display. In the distance, the city skyline stands clear against the bright horizon. A typical midday moment along the river, with the iron hook of a mooring bollard visible near the edge of the frame, anchoring the urban riverside setting.
