A tarnished nickel latch catches the bright afternoon sun on the weathered frame of a traditional Lisbon door. The metal hardware stands out against the peeling white paint that reveals layers of older, darker colors beneath. Sunlight streams through the opening, illuminating dust motes dancing in the warm air of the entryway. A small ceramic tile with blue patterns rests on the threshold just outside the frame.
