Neon Lit Bowl of Pho at Night

Steam rises gently from a steaming bowl of pho resting on a dark wooden counter. The broth glistens under the harsh pink and blue glow of overhead neon signs. Fresh green herbs and crisp white bean sprouts cluster atop the noodles, their colors sharpened by the artificial light. Condensation beads along the rim of a nearby glass, droplets sliding down the cool surface in a rhythm that suggests the humid monsoon air outside. The shallow depth of field blurs the background into soft streaks of color, keeping the focus tight on the texture of the broth and the delicate veins of the basil leaves. A pair of chopsticks rests across the bowl's edge, poised for the next bite.
