Nautical Dawn at Adelaide Observatory with Glider and Fog

The dark silhouette of the Adelaide Observatory dome rises above a thick layer of ground fog clinging to the slopes of Mount Lofty. High in the pale pre-dawn sky, a glider soars silently on thermal currents, its wings catching the first faint hints of light. Below, the threshold of the observatory is scattered with windblown cedar needles from nearby trees, drifting across the stone path in the low wind. The quiet activity of early morning at this historic site, where the mechanical stillness of the building contrasts with the natural movement of the fog and the soaring aircraft above.
