Muezzin Gaze in Cairo Evening Light in at a public square in Islamic Cairo, Cairo

Muezzin Gaze in Cairo Evening Light

by Jeffrey Ross

Honeyed evening light falls through suspended dust and heavy fabric, casting warm amber tones across the stone minaret. A muezzin stands framed by the rule of thirds, his face illuminated by the low sun while wind whips strands of hair and loose fabric around his shoulders. The texture of weathered limestone contrasts with the smooth skin of his calm, focused gaze. Behind him, the public square stretches into soft focus, revealing faint outlines of traditional Cairo architecture. His dark robe shifts slightly in the breeze, catching the golden glow against the cool blue shadows of early spring. One shadow falls sharply across the rough masonry at his feet.
