Mosaic Artist and Astronaut Unicorn in Hangzhou

Wet cobblestones reflect the bright midmorning sky in a Hangzhou public square. In the foreground, a mosaic artist crouches low, pressing colorful glass tesserae into wet plaster with a gloved hand. The artist wears a heavy canvas apron stained with grout. Behind the workbench, a silver spacesuit and a white unicorn with a spiraled horn stand side-by-side on the pavement. The impossible figures cast sharp shadows on the damp ground, their metallic surfaces gleaming in the soft light after rain. Water droplets rest on the astronaut's visor and the unicorn's mane. The artist's tools lie scattered on a wooden crate nearby. The contrast between the gritty, wet construction work and the fantastical figures creates a surreal stillness in the open square.
