Morning Fog at Busan Dock Lights
by Troy Day
Hard white light from overhead dock fixtures reflects sharply off the plastic shrink wrap covering stacked pallets. A thick layer of morning fog drifts low across the concrete loading lane in Busan, obscuring the background while leaving the foreground details crisp. Two red rubber wheel chocks sit firmly against the tires of a heavy truck, their texture rough against the smooth asphalt. Metal dock plates bridge the gap between the truck bed and the concrete apron, gleaming under the first rays of sunrise that cut through the mist. The scene is defined by straight leading lines of the dock doors and railings, guiding toward the vanishing point where the fog thickens. The air is still, and the silence of the late night run has settled over the industrial yard. A faint orange glow from the rising sun touches the edge of a steel door frame.
