A misty dawn settles over the Izmir coastline, softening the distant silhouette of the Karşıyaka Bridge across the bay. On the wet asphalt of the Kordon promenade, a municipal worker sweeps the damp pavement with a traditional straw broom, the rhythmic motion kicking up fine spray. The gray light reflects off the slick surface, blurring the line between sea and sky. In the background, the faint outlines of apartment blocks rise from the fog, while a few early morning joggers move as blurred shapes along the path. The quiet, damp reality of the city waking up, with the broom serving as the only sharp, grounded element in the hazy morning.
