Midnight Windowseat Tea Storm Shanghai

Overhead, a dark wooden windowseat anchors a Shanghai bedroom near Xintiandi at midnight. Brass binoculars rest beside a ceramic tea cup on the cushion. Cool blue projector light washes the dark walls, while candle flames flicker nearby. Through the glass, an early spring storm gathers grey clouds against the sky. Muted reflections of the candlelight stretch along the polished floorboards, elongating shadows. Steam rises visibly from the tea cup in the soft glow. The window frame holds the storm outside while the interior remains still under the blue wash.
