Mechanical Pencil in Portland

One mechanical pencil rests horizontally on the wet wooden sill of a window overlooking the misty streets of Portland. The first light after rain casts a soft, diffuse glow on the metal barrel, highlighting the subtle texture of the grip. Beside the pencil, a few raindrops rest on the glass pane, distorting the view of the gray sky outside. The tip of the pencil points toward the edge of the frame, where a small drop of water begins to slide down the wood.
