Through the fogged glass of a bustling Portland diner window, a cluster of patrons huddles around a laminate table illuminated by warm interior bulbs. A ceramic plate of pierogi with caramelized onion sits near a half-empty mug of coffee, while a polished brass tabletop reflects the glow of a nearby wall clock. Outside, the twilight deepens as city lights begin to glow against the gray Oregon sky, casting long shadows on the wet pavement where a pedestrian in a yellow raincoat walks past. The casual, lived-in texture of a Pacific Northwest evening, with condensation blurring the edges of the frame and showing the cozy interior contrast against the cool, damp urban exterior.
