A narrow alley in Kathmandu glows under the harsh white light of a single overhead bulb, illuminating a small street food stall operating late at night. Two long bamboo brooms lean against the brick wall near the entrance, their bristles dusted with street debris. Behind the counter, a vendor wraps hot momos in a thick wool scarf to ward off the chill, the fabric’s texture against the steam rising from the metal steamer. A few empty plastic cups sit on the corrugated metal table, while the dark street behind reveals glimpses of parked motorbikes and the faint outline of distant temple spires against the night sky. The quiet, lived-in reality of urban Nepal after hours.
