Warm golden light spills across a row of fashion mannequins standing rigid before a wall plastered with pinned croquis sketches. Bulbs encircle a large mirror to the left, casting soft halos around the mannequins' smooth, pale surfaces. The sketches show dynamic garment lines in charcoal and ink, against the stark white forms. Through the glass, dramatic autumn clouds gather in deep grays and burnt oranges, visible in the reflection behind the figures. Dust motes hang still in the heavy air, settling on the mannequins' shoulders. A sharp shadow from a sketch pin cuts a dark line across the chest of the nearest figure.
