Warm late afternoon light spills across a busy corner of Guadalajara, illuminating a vendor’s cart where a young girl carefully arranges a stack of hand-painted majolica plates. The vibrant cobalt and yellow glazes reflect the golden hour sun, against the rough, sun-bleached wood of the cart’s side. Beside the plates, a few postcards lean against a crate, their colors slightly faded by the dry air. The girl’s hands move with practiced ease, stacking the heavy ceramic bowls with a quiet confidence that speaks to years of helping her family.
