Under the flat, diffuse wash of an overcast midday, a long concrete ledge of a Travis County parking garage holds a scattered arrangement of discarded maintenance tools. A rusted metal wall hook juts from the stucco pillar, supporting a heavy frayed rope fibers coil that rests heavily on a chipped white enamel mixing spoon. Beside them, a dented metal measuring cup and a black plastic clothes brush lie near a faded recipe tin, all illuminated by the gray sky’s even light. The quiet entropy of a break room corner, where utility objects rest in a haphazard cluster against the damp gray concrete, proving their daily use through wear and dust rather than arrangement.
