Lawrence River in Quebec City at Late At Night Light

A vintage film photograph shows a chain ferry crossing the dark St Lawrence River in Quebec City late at night. The steel structure of the ferry is illuminated by warm sodium streetlights reflecting on the rippling water. Inside the open cabin, a few passengers sit on simple metal benches, bundled in heavy winter coats against the chill. One individual leans against the railing, watching the city lights of the Old Port glow in the distance across the wide expanse. The chain mechanism is visible running along the riverbed, anchoring the vessel as it moves steadily toward the Quebec City shore.
