Flat noon sunlight cuts through sheer curtains, turning the air inside the Kinshasa storefront into a haze of suspended dust. A specialized plastic caddy holds rows of sewing-machine bobbins, their metallic spools reflecting the harsh, white glare. The display sits behind a glass front, where leading lines of the rack draw toward the organized rows. The bobbins, in shades of black, white, and red, stand in precise alignment against a pale background. Dust motes drift visibly in the shafts of light, settling on the smooth plastic surfaces. The glass surface shows a faint reflection of the street outside, merging the interior order with the busy urban rhythm beyond. One red bobbin rests at the bottom right corner, anchoring the composition.
