Cool blue twilight washes the reception counter in Iquitos, turning the room into a deep indigo space. A massage oil pump stand sits centered in perfect symmetry on the polished wood surface. Warm lamplight settles into the corners, casting soft glows against the cool blue walls. Neatly arranged bottles and tools rest beside the pump, signaling a careful station turnover during the rainy season. Wet rain streaks the glass behind, blurring the street outside into soft blue smudges. The polished wood grain of the counter runs horizontally, lying at the base of the metallic sheen of the equipment. One drop of condensation rests on the base of the nearest oil bottle, clinging to the damp surface.
