A street vendor stands behind a small cart illuminated by a single warm bulb in the predawn darkness of Quito, Ecuador. The vendor holds a metal tray filled with golden-brown sambusas, their spiced meat filling visible in the broken pieces. Steam rises gently from the hot pastries, against the cool blue tones of the early morning air. Behind the cart, the faint outline of colonial architecture and streetlights marks the historic center. A few early risers walk past, their figures blurred by the low light. A quiet, authentic moment of daily life in the Andean capital, focusing on the simple interaction between the vendor and the city waking up.
