A German Shorthaired Pointer stands in profile on a shaded wooden porch, its short coat rendered as a dark, textured mass against the evening glow. The dog's distinct muzzle shape and floppy ears are clearly defined by the rim light from the city behind. Low-hanging clouds obscure the sky, allowing the first electric streetlights of Johannesburg to pierce through as soft, glowing orbs. The porch boards beneath the paws show weathered grain, while the metal railing curves gently into the background. The foreground railing is softly blurred, drawing focus to the animal's stance against the sharp, deepening twilight of the urban skyline. A brass latch on the porch gate catches the last faint reflection of the day.
