A German Shepherd stands centered in a small, clipped grass yard in Bamako, its thick tan and black coat catching the soft, diffuse light of an overcast day. The dog's alert ears and defined muzzle face slightly left, breaking perfect symmetry with a relaxed, natural stance. A weathered wooden doorframe casts a sharp diagonal shadow across the dusty wall behind the animal, adding geometric depth to the composition. The background reveals the edge of a modest home with peeling paint and a glimpse of the street beyond, at the base of the portrait in a lived-in urban environment.
