Rain-slicked red brick walls of a Victorian terrace gleam under the pale, diffused light of a London dawn, reflecting the wet asphalt of the narrow street below. A wrought-iron gate, dark with moisture, features a brass handle tarnished by years of touch, standing slightly ajar against the damp chill. Beyond the gate, a small patch of garden reveals vibrant zinnias, their petals heavy with water droplets that catch the weak morning sun, offering a sudden burst of crimson and orange against the muted grey and brown surroundings.
