Frozen Rain and Steam Rising from Clay Chai

Cool blue twilight washes the wooden tea house tray in Puebla, illuminating a rustic clay cup of masala chai. Steam rises in thick, white ribbons that halt abruptly in mid-air, frozen like solid white glass against the evening gloom. Outside the window, heavy raindrops from the rainy season hang suspended in perfect stillness, each drop a clear sphere catching the last light. The clay cup rests on a woven mat, its rough texture against the smooth, rigid droplets floating around it. A few loose tea leaves drift motionless near the rim, caught in the same temporal arrest. The window frame casts sharp geometric shadows across the tray, at the base of the impossible suspension in a tangible, humble space where time has simply stopped.
