Under the harsh sodium glow of a Lima streetlamp, a group of friends huddle on a cracked concrete bench outside a brightly lit corner store. The scene is charged with the casual intimacy of late-night conversation, illuminated by the cool blue spill from the store’s LED signage and the warm orange wash of the overhead lamp. One person leans back, their threadbare fabric cushion seam visible where the polyester has worn thin against the rough concrete. A small, colorful padlock hangs loosely from a zipped backpack, catching a sharp glint of light. In the background, pigeons scatter silently across the wet pavement, their wings blurring slightly in the low light.
