Fogged Lab Window Boiling Solvent Close-Up

by Joann Lugo

Soft daylight falls through sheer curtains, casting a pale glow over the interior of an engineering workspace near Victoria Seychelles. A laboratory fume hood dominates the frame, its glass pane obscured by a thick, swirling layer of condensation forming from slow-boiling solvent. The vapor rests on the surface, creating a textured barrier that blurs the dark equipment inside. Warm lamplight pools in the corners, against the cool blue-grey tones of the afternoon light. Droplets of moisture gather along the bottom edge of the glass, slowly merging into rivulets. A faint reflection of the room's ceiling hangs in the wet patch near the center.
