Bright midmorning sunlight floods the small tablao stage in Poble Sec, revealing the worn wooden floor scarred with deep heel marks from countless performances. A guitarist sits center stage, fingers poised over the strings of a polished wooden instrument, while the humid air from a recent rain lingers in the stillness. The background dissolves into soft bokeh, isolating the musician against the dimmer, empty rows of the concert hall. Dust motes hang suspended in the sharp beams of daylight, catching the texture of the aged wood grain and the subtle sweat on the performer's brow. at the edge is a dark, circular indentation in the floorboards where a dancer's heel has pressed deep into the timber.
