Under the blue-white glare of a sodium streetlamp, a fishmonger’s stainless steel worktable reflects the chaotic geometry of the harbor at night. A pair of worn leather slippers sits abandoned near the drain, their soles stained with brine and fish scales. Beside them, a threadbare blue cushion, likely from a nearby stall’s seating, is tossed aside, revealing frayed cotton threads against the wet metal. The dark silhouettes of fishing nets hanging in the background, while the ambient city light casts long, sharp shadows across the scattered ice and discarded packaging, showing the quiet exhaustion of the day’s labor in the port.
