Under a flat, diffused overcast sky, a Muscat fisherman stands on a concrete slipway, his back to the camera, adjusting a faded blue net. A red plastic toolbox sits open on the wet stones beside him, revealing a chaotic cluster of rusted hooks and tangled line. Scattered nearby are several bright orange fishing floats, their plastic surfaces dull under the gray light, against the rough, knife-marked wood of a nearby crate.
