Fez Tile Workshop at First Light Of Dawn

The first light of dawn falls through the high windows of a traditional Fez workshop, illuminating a stone basin where a craftsman rinses a block of green soap. White soap residue rests on the edges of the frame and the surrounding zellige tiles, evidence of the morning’s preparation. Beside the basin, an embroidery hoop rests on a wooden stool, holding unfinished geometric patterns typical of local artisans. The quiet beginning of the day, with the soft grey light highlighting the texture of the wet tiles and the intricate details of the craft tools scattered across the workbench, creating a grounded moment of daily life in the ancient city.
