Eagle Ice Sculptor in Winter Dawn
First rays of sunrise pierce heavy overcast skies near Rovaniemi, illuminating a sculptor working on a massive clear block of ice. The artist stands at the frame's edge, chisel in hand, carving the wings of an eagle. Vertical surfaces of the surrounding workshop walls and support beams defy gravity, covered in thick green moss and tufts of grass growing sideways and upward. The moss creates a lush, unexpected texture against the cold, transparent ice and the sculptor's heavy winter coat. Warm light reflects off the wet ice and the damp, vibrant vegetation, creating a cozy contrast to the dead of winter. The grass blades hang from the ceiling beams, their tips brushing the icy air, while the eagle's form begins to emerge from the frozen block.
