Golden hour light slants through the leafy canopy of a Toronto laneway, warming the rough brick of a heritage house and illuminating a cluttered but lived-in outdoor drying station. A wire rack holds damp linens, weighted down by a heavy ceramic mixing bowl and a single wooden clothespin, while a sun-warmed stone wall casts long, sharp shadows across the cracked concrete. Nearby, a chipped enamel sink bears the dark, dried rings of previous washes, next to a glass jar filled with more clothespins and a discarded notebook left open on a crate. The quiet, textured reality of urban domestic life, where practical objects interact with the fading daylight, creating a composition of worn materials and natural warmth.
