Doorframe in Athens at Afternoon Light

Sunlight cuts sharply through the slats of a woven cane window shutter, casting striped shadows across a weathered wooden doorframe in a traditional Athenian neighborhood. A brass door latch, tarnished by years of use, glints against the warm plaster wall, anchoring the frame’s left side. Through the open doorway, the street beyond reveals a glimpse of white stucco buildings and terracotta roof tiles under a clear blue sky, showing the verticality of the architecture. A towel edge, faded from sun exposure, is casually draped over a metal rail inside the dim entryway, its soft texture against the hard, geometric lines of the light and stone. The mix of domestic interior and public exterior, typical of Greek urban design.
