Dik-dik Hiding in Twilight Scrubland Queenstown

Steel-blue ambient light washes over a wind-scoured ridge near Queenstown, where a small dik-dik presses its body against dry, scrubby vegetation. Late spring foliage shows muted greens and browns, softened by a thin layer of light fog that blurs the background. The animal’s coat blends with the earthy tones of the scrub, its dark eyes reflecting the fading daylight. Fine hairs along its neck catch the cool light, while its small hooves grip the uneven, rocky ground. The fog hangs low, obscuring distant details but highlighting the texture of the rough shrubs surrounding the creature. One shadow falls across the ridge, marking the edge of twilight.
